Photography has always been a way of life for me since I had my dad's permission to use his old Nikkormat when I was a child. I remember learning to load the first film and trying to figure out how to use the camera. My first photographic subjects were lemurs on the island of Nosy Komba in northern Madagascar. I remember the long wait to get the film processed and the mix of disappointment and joy when the pictures turned up.  Since then I have always had a camera with me. I grew up with the idea of documenting our world and the lives of the people who are living in it. Photography was my natural choice of story telling media. The camera became my everyday tool to open the doors of people's lives, and to capture, analyse, restitute what I understood of their realities.

And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo-bee. Oh sha sha. We got to live together! There is a yellow one that won't accept the black one. That won't accept the red one that won't accept the white one. And different strokes for different folks… and so on and so on.
